iGarden has disrupted the robotic pool cleaner market with its latest M1 series, trading functional anonymity for an aesthetic inspired by high-performance vehicles. The M1 Pro Max 100 is not just a cleaning device, but a statement piece—though its value lies in performance as much as appearance.
Sleek Design, Enhanced Capacity
The M1 Pro Max 100 builds on the design of the K series, but with a more aggressive look. A prominent “cockpit” component on the center houses an enlarged debris basket, now holding 4.5 liters—a slight upgrade over the previous 4-liter capacity. The unit comes in red or black, with the red option making the boldest statement.
The robot’s 25-pound build is designed for durability, backed by a substantial 12500 mAh battery. This provides up to 10 hours of runtime in floor-only mode, easily covering a week of daily operations. A larger 14500 mAh battery will be available in the M1 Pro Max 125, but the 100’s capacity is sufficient for most users.
Design refinements include concealed treads and recessed wheels, further enhancing the automotive aesthetic.
Setup and Controls
The M1 Pro Max 100 requires minimal setup, aside from a 5.5-hour charge and configuration via the mobile app. The app itself remains basic, offering limited functionality beyond firmware updates and operational settings. No cleaning history is tracked, which means most users will likely only use it for initial setup.
Onboard controls are complex, with four touch-sensitive buttons in addition to the power button. Users can set running time (1–2 hours or until depleted) and cleaning mode (floor, walls, or full coverage). Turbo mode increases speed, while an AI timer enables scheduled cleanings every 24, 48, or 72 hours. The controls rely on pictograms and dots, making the manual essential for proper use.
The app simplifies some of these settings and allows for longer runtimes of up to 10 hours. Connectivity is available via Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, though the robot only communicates with phones while on land.
Performance and Testing
In testing, the M1 Pro Max 100 proved effective at cleaning an L-shaped, 468-square-foot pool with PebbleTec surfaces. It achieved 95% cleanliness after two hours, with scattered debris cleared within three. Two 4K cameras scan for debris, rerouting the robot as needed.
Battery life matched iGarden’s claims: 10 hours in floor-only mode, but only seven in full coverage. This still allows for multiple cleanings before recharging. The company rates the robot for pools up to 1,274 square feet.
The cleanup process after use is somewhat inconvenient. The large filter basket is accessed through a small hatch, making debris removal difficult, especially due to an internal shelf that traps dirt. An included reusable fine-mesh filter enhances the basket but may not be necessary for all users.
Pricing and Value
At $1,599, the M1 Pro Max 100 is aggressively priced—$1,000 less than last year’s K Pro 150. This makes it a compelling buy, competing with other high-end robots on the market. Despite some minor inconveniences in cleanup, its performance and design justify the cost.
The iGarden M1 Pro Max 100 delivers a premium pool-cleaning experience, blending high performance with an automotive-inspired aesthetic. If you prioritize both functionality and style, this robot is a strong contender.
